Accreditation of learning programmes

As a training provider in the development sector, PASCaP's learning programmes are accredited by the Education, Training and Development Practices (ETDP) Sector Education Training Authority (SETA).

What does accreditation mean?

Accreditation means that the training provided is:

bullet

of a nationally-accepted standard

bullet

aligned with nationally determined learning outcomes

bullet

nationally certificated and recognised

bullet

applied to enable the learner to achieve progress in attaining qualifications at different levels of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The importance for development in South Africa

The accreditation of non-profit providers such as PASCaP is critical in enabling access to to high quality, nationally recognised education and training opportunities to the unemployed and those living in poverty.

Education is important in countering the  effects of apartheid as it empowers those that are marginalised and facilitates access to improved economic and social standards of living.

Education also enables communities to help themselves and one another more effectively, and to draw in the required resources to improve their collective circumstances.

The unit standards against which PASCaP offers training and an RPL (recognition of prior learning) service are:
